What the SolidCraft desktop app, browser app, agent chat, and this website send over the network, and what stays on your computer.

Effective October 24, 2026.

Desktop app

SolidCraft has no telemetry, no accounts, and no usage reporting. Your designs stay on your computer unless you share them yourself.

The one network request SolidCraft makes on its own is the update check. At startup, and again once a day while it stays open, it asks the GitHub API for the latest SolidCraft release. The request carries a fixed User-Agent and nothing else: no version number, no machine or user identifier, no usage data, and no cookies. GitHub sees it like any other visit to its API, including your IP address and the time. If you choose Update now, SolidCraft downloads the release files from GitHub releases. Turn the check off under Preferences, or set SOLIDCRAFT_UPDATE_CHECK=0. Builds you compile yourself, the Flatpak, and the browser app never check. Details are in updates and privacy.

Crash reports are written to a folder on your computer. SolidCraft does not send them anywhere. Report a bug lets you review a screenshot and opens a draft GitHub issue in your browser; nothing is published until you submit it yourself.

Agent chat

Agent chat is optional and exists only in the desktop app. It talks to the coding agent you run on your computer, or to the OpenAI-compatible endpoint you configure (a local one such as Ollama or LM Studio, or a URL you choose). Your prompts, any files you attach, and what the agent reads from your design go only to that agent or endpoint. SolidCraft does not proxy or provide a model and does not send them anywhere else. What an agent sends on to its own service is governed by that service’s terms. An endpoint’s key is kept in your system keychain and sent only to that endpoint.

Browser app

The browser app runs in your browser. Designs stay in the browser’s private storage or in files you choose to open and save; SolidCraft does not upload them. The app keeps a copy of itself in your browser so it works offline, and checks for a newer build from the site that serves it. Clearing the site’s data can remove designs kept in browser storage, so download a copy of anything you want to keep. See the file guide.

This website

The site has no accounts, forms, advertising, or analytics scripts, and it sets no cookies. Fonts, images, and videos are served from the site itself.

solidcraft.io is served through Cloudflare. Like any host, Cloudflare processes ordinary request information such as your IP address and request headers, and may keep logs or aggregate traffic statistics under its own privacy policy.

The home, download, and releases pages ask api.github.com for public release information directly from your browser, with no credentials. GitHub receives your IP address and ordinary request headers. The result is kept in your browser’s local storage for five minutes, and the pages work if storage or GitHub is unavailable. SolidCore progress pages likewise fetch public reports from tangency-labs.github.io. Download links go straight to GitHub release files, and this site adds no tracking parameters. GitHub handles those requests under its privacy statement.

Changes to this policy

SolidCraft doesn’t collect usage data today. If we ever add anonymous usage statistics, they will be opt-in, we’ll say exactly what’s collected, and we’ll update this page (with a new effective date) and announce it in the release notes before shipping it.
